Congratulations to Ohio Danger 98 for bringing home the championship against a very impressive Cincy Shock team.
Our girls allowed only 8 runs in 5 games and scored 53! Scores were:

OD vs. Mason Thunder 8-0
OD vs. Lady Mustangs 18-1
OD vs. EMR 10-5
OD vs. Miamisburg Sting 8-1
OD vs. Cincy Shock 9-1

Very well ran tournament and nothing like playing a championship game under the lights with fireworks going off in centerfield!

Congrats to all of the teams who battled through the heat!

We have 8 1999 birthdays that will play 12U and three 1998 birthdays that will need to move up next year.

Both of our pitchers are 1999.

Both of our catchers are 12 years old and will move up next year. We are looking for a 1999 catcher for next year if you know of any in the area!!!!

Thanks.

Fractured 4th metacarpal. Out 5 to 6 weeks. She's my daughter... She's a little bummed but keeping her head high!!!

She was 2 for 2 that day in slap hitting...

Played 2 innings after the injury. We had used all of our substitutions... of course we didn't know it was fractured at the time.

I have done a little research since the injury. Getting hit by pitch is fairly common in slap hitters...

Does that surprise anyone?

without being an expert in slap hitting, no, it doesn't surprise me. It would seem to me the last place you want to pitch to a slap hitter is away giving them better opportunity to take the ball down the 3rd base line or in that hole between short and 3rd. Meaning you would be more likely to pitch inside and that would lead to that...but I'm far from an expert.

Travis, I'm very sorry to hear about your DD. That's just terrible and I feel badly for her and the entire team. :(
I am certain the Shock family will rally around her this weekend in Beavercreek. Best wishes from me and my DD.

Travis,

Sorry to hear about the injury!! Hope she heals up well and I'm sure she'll be ready to go again! Very good slap hitter...was impressive player! She sure dug up the balls at SS; couldn't get anything by her...
