SANTEE, Calif. — Less than a week ago, the SDC softball team split the doubleheader against La Sierra in Riverside.

Unlike what happened on March 1, the Golden Eagles took both games of the DH, 8-3 in Game 1 and 10-2 in Game 2.

The loss drops the Hawks to 6-10 on the season.

In Game 1, the Golden Eagles scored first, two in the second and four in the fourth for a 6-0 lead. The Hawks answered in the bottom of the fourth with a run, a fielder's choice from Bailey Romano that scored Montana Potts.

La Sierra added two runs in the fifth and the Hawks added two in the bottom of the seventh. Alicia Corona singled to center field scoring Kaylyn Rubalcava. Joselle Nicolas hit a sac fly that scored Noemi Farfan but the rally was ended in the loss.

Six different Hawks tallied a hit. Madison Bostick was charged with the loss throwing the first two innings and gave up two unearned runs. Madelyn Jacobs finished the game throwing the last five innings. She allowed six hits and only one unearned run with three strikeouts.

The Golden Eagles scored the first run in Game 2 as well to grab an early 1-0 lead. But the Hawks answered this time, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second. Emily Espino singled up the middle scoring Tori Harris. Farfan was next with an RBI single to left scoring Rubalcava for the 2-1 lead.

Unfortunately, that was the las the Hawks would score the rest of the game as La Sierra scored nine-straight runs.

Espino led with two hits as SDC could only muster four in the nightcap.

Farfan started the game throwing 4.1 innings and allowed 10 hits and six earned runs. Jacobs finished the game out again, just .2 innings allowing two hits and three runs.

SDC will have the weekend off before heading to Marymount on Monday.
