[Softball] Hatter's Heroics Extend No. 1 USAO's Win Streak to 59

CHICKASHA, Okla. – No. 1 University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (52-0, 36-0 SAC) extended their win streak to 59 games, thanks to a walk-off homerun from Randa Hatter (JR/Stratford, OK), giving the Drovers the thrilling 2-1 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God University.Â

No. 1 USAO did not own the lead until the final play of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. SAGU scored their only run in the top of the fifth inning on a RBI-single from Cheyenne Fults.Â

Randa Hatter stepped to the dish with one out and a runner on first in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the count 1-1, Hatter blasted her 13th homer of the season OVER the scoreboard in left field, ending the game.

Hatter finished the game 1-for-3 and added her fifth homer in the Drovers' last seven games played. The junior is now batting .397 with 12 doubles, 13 homeruns, and 45 runs batted in.

Karlie Velasco (SR/Del City, OK), Kristen Prieto (JR/Moore, OK), and Keely Kingsley (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) each added singles in the thrilling win.Â

Emily Cerny (SO/Newcastle, OK) pitched great once again, improving her record to 24-0 as she struck out seven batters while allowing only one run. Cerny now sports a 0.34 earned run average and she has struck out 241 batters in 145.2 innings pitched. SAGU's run in the fifth inning, was the first run allowed by Cerny in her last 55.1 innings pitched.

The Drovers will be back in action on Sunday, May 5 as they face No. 3 Oklahoma City University in the SAC Tournament Championship Game at 1 PM at Ann Lacy Stadium in OKC.
