Morgan Krieger's sixth-inning double scored Logan Frerichs with the game's only run as St. Ambrose earned a split of a doubleheader at Cardinal Stritch with a 1-0 Game 2 win Tuesday afternoon in Milwaukee, Wis.

It capped a big day at the plate for Krieger, who collected two hits, including a solo home run, in a 6-1 loss in the opener.

Her final hit came after back-to-back one-out errors allowed Frerichs and Christina Pembrook to reach base. Krieger doubled to right center to break the scoreless tie and lift the Bees to 24-16 overall and 10-10 in the CCAC.

That run was all Pembrook needed as she tossed a two-hit shutout. She struck out five.

St. Ambrose collected just three hits. Julie Trellicoso and Ashley Yattoni also singled in the win.

The Bees also managed just three hits in the opener, including Krieger's homer leading off the second inning that gave SAU a 1-0 lead. The inning continued as Lexie Carlsten walked and Madelyn Thompson singled to put two on with no outs, but St. Ambrose was unable to add to its lead.

Cardinal Stritch (18-20, 7-11 CCAC) immediately came back with four runs in the bottom of the second, the last two unearned after a Bee error. The Wolves added single runs in the third and fourth innings.

Yattoni was charged with the loss.
