CHICKASHA. Okla. - The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (33-0, 20-0 SAC) improved their incredible win streak to FORTY straight games as they finished the four-game sweep against Central Christian College (6-19, 4-13 SAC). The No. 1 ranked Drovers were able to win both of Saturday's games in run-rule fashion, taking game one 10-2 (5 inn.) and finishing off the sweep with a 8-0 (5 inn.) shutout in the series finale.

GAME 1 -

The Tigers were able to take the first lead of the game as they scored a pair of runs in the top of the third inning. CCC's runs in the third inning were the first runs that the Drovers had allowed in their last 30 innings played. Central Christian's lead was short lived as the Drovers scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game. The USAO offense went off for 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and shut down the Tigers in the fifth, forcing the game to end due to the run-rule.

The Drovers offense had five different players collect a pair of hits, and three other players recorded one hit in the win. Dakota Clouse (SR/Blancahard, OK) concluded game one with a 2-2 performance that included a run scored and a run batted in. Darci Chester (SO/Collinsville, OK) also finished 2-2 with a pair of singles. Randa Hatter (JR/Stratford, Okla.) contributed a 2-3 performance, in which she roped a double and drove in a pair of runs. Tarah Madron (JR/Konawa, OK) stayed hot at the dish as she went 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Keely Kingsley (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) concluded 2-3 with a run scored. Kristen Prieto (JR/Moore, OK) added a pair of RBI's as she went 1-2 at the plate. Karlie Velasco (SR/Del City, OK) scored twice and singled, while Emily Cerny (SO/Newcastle, OK) helped her own cause by going 1-3 with a run scored.

Cerny picked up her twelfth win of the season, pitching all 5 innings, allowing only one earned run, which ended her 25 inning scoreless streak. The sophomore pitcher struck out 7 batters, raising her season total to 132.

GAME 2 -

The No. 1 Drovers wasted no time to score in the series finale, as they exploded for 7 runs in the bottom of the first inning. The scored remained 7-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning when USAO scored their eighth run of the game.

Emily Cerny started the game for USAO and was credited with the win, giving her 13 victories during the 2019 season so far. Cerny finishes the week with a 5-0 record, only surrendered 1 earned run, and had 47 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched. The sophomore pitcher has earned the SAC's last three Pitcher of the Week awards, and she could possibly earn her fourth in a row on Monday afternoon.

Lyndie Ervin (FR/Washington, OK) pitched the final 4 innings of the game, allowing zero runs and just 3 hits as she struck out a pair of batters. Ervin has not allowed a run in her last 12 innings pitched.

Cerny and Ervin combined to throw the Drovers thirteenth shutout victory of the season so far! As a team, they have the fourth lowest ERA (1.48), second most strikeouts (221), and they've held opponents to a .188 batting average, which ranks sixth in the NAIA.

Darci Chester stayed red-hot at the dish going 3-3, with a triple, 2 runs scored, and added a RBI. Chester has hit her way onto the bases in each of her last five at bats. Keely Kingsley continued to find her way on the bases, going 2-2 with a run scored and a run batted in. Karlie Velasco added a 2-3 performance that included a run scored and 2 RBI's. Emily Cerny improved her batting average with a 2-3 game, that included a run and a RBI. Tarah Madron was perfect at the dish, going 1-1 with a run scored and a run driven in. Alyson Clemence (SO/Washington, OK) also added a single in the rout.

The No. 1 Drovers will look to extend their 40-game win streak on Monday, April 1 when they head to OKC and face-off with MACU at 2 & 4 PM.
