COLUMBIA, Ky. – On May 26, 2015, the Lindsey Wilson softball team used a pair of extra-inning home runs to propel them to a 9-5 eighth inning victory over top-seeded LSU Alexandria (La.) at the NAIA World Series.
Tied at 5-5 in the top of the eighth inning, Andrea Whelan sent a 1-2 pitch deep over the right-field fence to put the Blue Raiders up 8-5 over the Generals. One batter later, Amanda Trampe sent the first pitch of her at-bat to straightaway center to tack on another run for the 9-5 lead.
