MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – Riding a 14-game Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) winning streak, the Olivet Nazarene University softball team headed north to Milwaukee for a doubleheader with Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday, April 9. Homering in her fifth consecutive game, Alli Davis (SO/Mount Zion, Ill. ) put the Tigers on top in the fourth with a three-run shot. ONU would coast to a 4-1 victory in the opener.
In the second game, the Tigers had a strong fifth inning behind a double from Davis that sent Sara Beers (SO/Greenwood, Ind. ) home, followed by a two-run home run from Miranda Southall (JR/Wilmington, Ill.). In addition, Southall and Emily Carstens (SR/Peotone, Ill.) combined for 19 total strikeouts in the two games, dominating the CSU batters. It is the Tigers 16th win in a row, and 16-0 record for in conference play, which puts them well ahead of second place St. Ambrose University.
