[Softball] ONU sweeps Bees to conclude CCAC regular season

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – After getting back to campus following Easter Break, the Olivet Nazarene University softball team was ready to get back on track after snapping their 19-game winning streak to Indiana University-South Bend last week. St. Ambrose University just happened to find themselves face-to-face with a very motivated train. In the first game of the doubleheader, the Tigers wasted no time, putting four runs on the board in the first inning. Despite giving up eight hits, Emily Carstens (SR/Peotone, Ill.) allowed only one run and the Tigers went on for a 7-1 win. Carstens picked up her 23rd win on the season in the circle.

The second matchup saw the Tigers fall behind early but a two-RBI triple from Miranda Southall (JR/Wilmington, Ill.) turned things around. Southall added a two-RBI double a few innings later to put things out of reach for the visiting Bees. Southall would enter in relief for the Tigers in the fourth, picking up the 8-2 win.
