[Softball] Prieto and Ervin Sweep SAC Conference Player of the Week Awards

CHICKASHA, Okla. - The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (10-0, 2-0 SAC) softball team swept the Sooner Athletic Conference player and pitcher of the week awards after a 4-0 weekend. Kristen Prieto (JR/Moore, OK) took home the Player of the Week award and Lyndie Ervin (FR/Washington, OK) earned Pitcher of the Week. The Drovers picked up wins against Columbia College (8-1), McPherson College (3-1), Lindenwood University-Belleville (8-7 - 8 inn.) and Tabor College (9-2).

Prieto went 8-14 over the weekend, which included 4 runs scored, a paid of doubles, and 7 RBI's. The junior infielder improved her batting average to .517, which leads the team and she also shares the team-lead in RBI's with 14.

Ervin picked up a paid of wins over the weekend, including an 8-1 victory against No. 4 Columbia College, which was a rematch of last season's national championship game. In the win against Columbia, the freshman allowed zero earned runs as she struck out 7 batters. Ervin now boasts an ERA of 1.34, and she has struck out 12 batters in 15.2 innings pitched.

The Drovers will be back in action on Tuesday, February 26 as they host a double-header against Tabor College at 3 and 5 PM.
