MONTREAT, N.C. – Montreat softball's Charlie Smith is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the first edition of the weekly honors for the 2019 season.
The junior from Marietta, Ga. earned the weekly honor for her performance in game two of Montreat's doubleheader at Brevard on Sunday.
Smith recorded a complete-game shutout in a 3-0 win, allowing just one hit and one walk in seven innings of work. She also fanned a season-high six batters, improving to 4-2 on the season.
