Marymount California downed Benedictine-Mesa Sunday to complete the first series sweep in school history and take the top position in the California Pacific Conference standings. The Mariners won the opener 2-1 on Sonia Escalera's two-run double in the 7th, and then took the second game 9-1 to improve to 4-0 in conference and 16-10 overall. While MCU was sweeping BENU, Embry-Riddle captured three out of four from La Sierra and gained control of second place, and defending champion Simpson culminated a long road trip with back-to-back shutouts at Antelope Valley and return home with 5-3 Cal Pac record.
