[Softball] Tarr claims another RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week honor

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University junior Katie Tarr had a dominating week to claim River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 25-31.

The 6-1 junior from Burgettstown, Pa., was 3-0 with one save in four appearances. In 21.2 innings, she amassed 38 strikeouts, zero walks and gave up only one earned run. Tarr allowed 11 hits and two runs during that time for a 1.00 ERA on the week. Each of her three starts was a complete game.

Tarr powered the Pioneers to six straight wins. She had 13 strikeouts and no walks in a 4-0 shutout of Ohio Christian. The next day, she struck out a career-high 15 and walked none in a four-hit, 4-1 win over Cincinnati Christian. She also had a save in the matchup versus CCU. She started out the week with 10 strikeouts and no walks in a two-hitter versus Waynesburg.

Point Park (10-13, 5-3 RSC) will be at Asbury (Ky.) and Midway (Ky.) this weekend.
