[Softball] Tarr's 28 K's, 14.0 scoreless nets RSC Pitcher of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University junior Katie Tarr had another dominating week to win River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 1-7. It is her second week in a row and third time on the year she has been honored.

Tarr, from Burgettstown, Pa., threw 14.0 shutout innings in two complete games of 7.0 innings each. In that span, she struck out 28 batters, walked four and gave up no runs and just five hits. That equated to a 0.00 ERA with RSC wins at Asbury (Ky) and Midway (Ky.).

Tarr started out with 17 strikeouts in a two-hit shutout of Asbury, 6-0. She walked four in the outing. Tarr then struck out 11, walked none and yielded only three hits in a shutout of Midway, 2-0.

Point Park is 13-14 overall, 8-4 RSC and hosts Slippery Rock on Wednesday for a doubleheader.
