LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Vanguard University was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for their academic success, ranking seventh in the NAIA in grade point average. The 2017-18 roster featuring 22 student-athletes were some of the 5,152 softball players earned Easton / NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors across the NCAA Division I, II, and II, the NAIA, Junior Colleges, and High Schools. Vanguard was the only school from the Golden State Athletic Conference to reach the platform, and furthermore the only West Coast institution recognized.
