COLUMBIA, Kent. – The 2018 NAIA National Championship Opening Round kicked off in the Columbia Bracket and in the second game of the double-elimination tournament, the #1 seeded Lions (50-11) faced off against #4 seeded Saint Xavier (28-15). At the end of 27 outs, the Cougars escaped with a 1-0 victory despite the Blue and Gold having the upper hand in total hits. This loss moves the Pride into the elimination bracket later this afternoon, against host Lindsey Wilson College.
