Sore losers

So the other night in our League play. We go up by 3 with 4 mins left to play drop dead. We have a player on 2nd from stealing. She slides and stands up, as I'm giving her the sign to steal 3rd. She says "coach my shoe" Blue calls time and she ties it. 2 Mins later it starts to down pour and the game gets called since we only had 120 seconds on the clock. The opposing coach tells me "I like that you guys have a sign to call for a player to tie their shoe to stall the clock, great sportsmanship!"

I laughed so hard and said thats not what happened at all and we are not thirsty for a win. We win often, and know how it feels.:lmao:

I like the fact that the other coach thinks their team could score at least 3 runs in 4 minutes while still on defense.

On the way home It made me mad that he even said that. At the time I laughed right in his face. I'll have to show you the signs some time ;)

I got to say the best comeback is the "we win often and know how it feels" that is great!!!

I couldn't get away with that! I know the Mason Thunder coach would have me kicked out of the game, lol! Sorry Joe

LOL yea he was a bit speechless and I said we are not thirsty for a win. This team drives 1+ hour from IN to our games, and they dont win often.

The worst display of unsportsmanlike conduct was this season after we beat a certain high school team, the girls spit on their hands before they shook our girls hands in the "good job line". It was disgusting.

lol, wow, when my DD was in HS, if a team would have done this to us, her and her catcher would have caused some bloody noses.......:)

First - scoring 3 runs to at least tie the game in 4 minutes? And their team is still in the field?? Some coaches just lose all common sense and resort to making excuses for losing! Another great response to claims of stalling is "maybe if your team hadn't allowed a three run deficit they wouldn't have been in that predicament!" lol

So - not claiming you were stalling at all! BUT - I used to have a pet peeve in sports, which mostly happened in b-ball and softball - and that's untied shoes! DOUBLE KNOTS!!! My DD's coaches ALWAYS stressed this. I can't remember kids on my DD's teams ever having unties shoes even in grade school. But I saw it quite frequently on opposing teams. Attention to small details is an important part of the game. :)

Everybody has that one kid on their team that's a human rain delay...shoes coming untied, can't find her: Helmet, glove, batting gloves, bat bag etc...she's the kid sprinting into the park at 8:59-9:01 when the team was suppose to start warming up at 9 lol Cause at home she can't find anything either lol

when my niece was playing, her "coach" pulled a lot of this junk stuff to stall.

Talk about sore losers. We played a team and came back to beat them and a girl on their team punched our player in the back...when our coach went over and told him he was like well I didn't see it. Shrugged it off. Their parents then began flipping off our girls... This is at 12u....not to mention another team on the tourney said the same girl did hit one of their players when she was on first and they complained...

A wise man who helped start up an organization ours played for stated, if we can't win it in regulation, we don't deserve to win...... Stuck with me since..........
