Since the 18U Tourney was completed Sun and the 16 ,14,12 tourneys will be played in the following weekends.Lets hear some thoughts on teams and results.I know everyone likes to complain about conditions in the dome ,but its the closest were getting to dirt for a month or so.Caught a couple of games this weekend, thought it takes a game or two for teams to figure how to play in there and have success.

16U Outlaws Premier played 18U Team PA Elite in Championship coming up short in ITB.
It was a great game there first 4 hitters are scary. We knew we were in for a dogfight after the first game on Saturday.

Team PA one of the teams I saw struggle early sat w/playing at spano not advancing runners when possible.Next weekends 16u event features 3 NY teams plus 2 Canadian teams ,Guelph Gators/Halton Hawks, break out the stars and stripes ,we got an international event right here in Ohio.can't wait to hear those cowbells and french speak.lol

Lasers Red lost to Team PA in bracket with a 0-0 score. Lost on runners. I will say, not only in our games, but other games that I watched, the umpires really need to pay attention where the "fair" line on the ceiling is. I saw a LOT of girls called out when they shouldn't have been.

Don't think I've ever seen a game where that wasn't a question there.Huge bombs by players in there mean very little, line drives above or below Double line and moving runners by bunting to the corners ,aggressive base running wins games there.A 3-0 lead there is like 6 outside.Sorry your team lost Crystle, from what I saw they played well early.

Yeah, it stinks. I think we gave up 1 run all weekend. Oh well. It happens.

Looked at final 18U bracket on Spano site.Don't think I've ever seen a 4 seed in elimination game Sat night run the bracket like Team PA did Sunday.Alot of the younger teams didn't last as long as I would have thought as well.

I know the weather played a factor and a couple of teams (Bandits, Turnin2) pulled out after winning their bracket games.

Turnin2 played X-Factor in bracket and won. Then forfeited because of the weather and the long drive home. Then X-Factor chose to forfeit and not move on to the next game. Bandits were still in it when they chose to forfeit due to weather and some of their players having a long drive. I also know some of the Canadian families were leaving early.

Warren, I heard it was a great game indeed the finals.

Lasers and TPAC always tough games, last year's game also was won via criteria between them as they had more runners reach third base. I don't think that Lasers team last year had given up a run either. Inside ball always makes for interesting play, our Elite team rely's alot on big hitters, the inside game really slows that aspect down to almost a halt.

Team PA Cyclones Beat Turnin 2 3-0, I believe that was in pool play, in response to prior question.

My 4th year at Spano and still enjoy going up there. I challenged my 99 team and I felt they did not disappoint me. In what I felt was a tough pool with Outlaws, TeamPA, and Turnin2 my team was able to tie Turnin2 3-3 but losing to them with them having 1 more runner to 3rd and playing a nice tight game with the Outlaws holding them to 1 run til the last inning. Getting the 3 seed was was a surprise for us. Lost a heartbreaker to NY Inferno 18u Gold 1-0 in which we had bases loaded with 2 outs in last inning with our last out hitting that dreaded top net!! Impressive field of teams for the 18u tournament.
Congrats TeamPA and Ohio Outlaws

Heard Madi McCrady from Outlaws pitched 26 innings in the tourney, only gave up 5 hits all weekend! Tough kid! Great pitcher, shouldn't be long before she signs with someone. Congrats Warren on a well played tourney.

Yes Madi was phenomenal and so was McKenna Coffman. I will put these two young ladies up against any 16U pitchers in the state. We are very blessed to have them both, and our third pitcher is 15U Tina Clark and she ain't bad either :) but was hurt this weekend. Really enjoyed watching those two pitch this weekend it will be a fun summer with those three.

Ive heard Mckenna is a good pitcher as well. I know McCrady, she is a beast (for a bean pole) lol.... Played against Clark when she was with Stingrays. She was good then, and I've heard shes pushed her game to another level. Good for her, too bad she was hurt. Best of luck this season Warren......
