The Stark County Terrier's 12u Fastpitch are excited to announce tryouts for our fastpitch softball organization.
As a 12u team in the current 21/22 season the team had great success: One Championship win (Kids America Summer Showcase) and One Runner-up (FASA 21st Annual Maple Leaf East) and many impressive wins over good teams. Remainder of schedule to include Firework Frenzy, 21st Annual Cinderella Classic, Kids America Softball America, and World Series @ Berliner.
Our plans for the 2022/2023 season is to continue playing a competitive schedule, practice through the winter at an indoor facility, and grow as a team. We are looking for 2010 girls with the right attitude, a willingness to work hard, and that are open to developing their skills beyond what they are today. Several positions are open due to some of our girls moving up to our 14u team, including Utility, Middle Infield, Outfield, and Catcher and while we are based in Stark County, we invite all girls interested in becoming a Terrier to join us for our tryouts listed on the attached flyer.
Our 12u team will be coached by Angela Seders and Steve Newman. Angela played four years of softball for Perry (Massillon) High School and six years of travel ball before moving to play four years of collegiate ball at Malone University. After graduation she stayed on as a graduate coach and an assistant coach for three years, at which point Malone made her the Pioneers head softball coach, a position she held for four years. Steve has been coaching and assistant coaching youth softball for five years. Steve played baseball in school, in addition to track and field, and continued to play men’s slow pitch softball for years thereafter. Angela and Steve bring a unique style to their coaching strategy and want to provide the best opportunity for the girls to learn and grow.
Stark County Terriers 12u will be practicing on the same field as the 2021 OHSAA Division I Softball State Champions. The Perry Panthers Softball team is allowing us to use their facilities in their down times. We will have access to all this facility has to offer including the high school field, JV field, and Pony field.
