Stay in Softball has been busy since our last update, so we wanted to provide and update and advertise our upcoming free clinic.
Since our last post a few weeks ago, we were able to sponsor three players to attend the clinics given by Oregon Head Coach, Mike White, held at Pinnacle Sports. Each player we sponsored was able to attend two clinics each (including hitting, pitching, infield and outfield clinics).
Last weekend was a special weekend for us as well as we were presented with donation checks from both Jeff Baker and Ricky Moorehead at the Fire in the Sky championship game. While Ricky presented his check, Jeff told the crowd about Stay in Softball and explained our purpose. Before the game, Ricky also interviewed board members Meghan McKeogh and Cait Kelm on the live broadcast. Both of these were great experiences and gave our organization a great deal of exposure. A big thank you to Jeff and Ricky for the donations, support and exposure! Another big thank you to Tournament Director, Joe Horn, who allowed the presentation to take place during the tournament's "main event". The tournament itself and the championship game was as great as everyone told us it would be.
We are also spreading the word about our next free clinic which will be held on July 20th from 6-9PM at the Candlelite Knolls facility in Warren (thanks to Valley Extreme and the Bazetta-Cortland Optimist Club). The clinic is open to all girls age 8-12 who would like to sharpen their fundamentals. We have a great slate of coaches and player assistants from Valley Extreme, the Ohio Wolfpack, the Ohio Lady Lasers, the Ohio Outlaws, Silver Creek Stars and Thunder Elite. We also have past and current D1 players and private instructors who are also coaching. The clinic will cover hitting, fielding, pitching and catching. We have four fields to work with and many player volunteers, so the girls will get a good amount of space and individual attention. Players do not need to have their own equipment to attend as we will have equipment for those who do not have their own. To register your daughter for the clinic, e mail your name and contact information to stayinsoftball@gmail.com If you would like a copy of the clinic flyer to pass along to any rec coaches/teams you know, please also e mail us so we can send it to you. Thank you, in advance, to all of the wonderful players and coaches who are volunteering their time to help with this clinic!
As always, we encourage you to follow our Facebook page www.Facebook.com/stayinsoftball and check out our website: www.stayinsoftball.com
Thanks to everyone who has supported us since we started this in February.
