Program Outline

All athletes will go through an individual assessment to determine strengths and weaknesses and specific programs will be designed for each.

The overall program will be a combination of development of strength and speed/agility with many warm-up and agility drills that involve fastpitch specific technique training.

The training is broken down to teach the athletes correct form in all lifts and plyometric drills. Each phase will incorporate injury prevention exercises.
There will be two levels of training: Group 1: 6th-8th graders Group 2: 9th-12th graders
Program Goal
The goal of the program is to increase strength, speed, power, agility, flexibility and reduce the risk of common softball related/overuse type injuries. In addition, the softball specific drills combined with the general strength/speed/ agility training will produce a stronger, faster more confident athlete. One of the key differences that should be noted is that we will evaluate each athlete and design a program around their specific needs, and the training will be done in small groups so that each athlete is being pushed to a higher level every week. The athletes that commit to training consistanly will notice more speed and quickness on defense, both hand and foot speed. The general strength and core/ grip emphasis will produce faster bat speeds and better bat control. The athletes overall power will be noticeably improved.
