Why is it people want to talk their own team up but word it as if they are not a part of that team? Example, much improved team that needs recognition is the ( insert team name), they beat so and so and need props. Then you look at their profile and they clearly state they are part of the team they are talking up.... I don't get it. Rant over. SMH...

What's worse are the "Surveys" asking "Who are the top 14U shortstops in northern Delaware County whose uniform numbers fall between 22 and 24?"

Slightly exaggerated, but not by much... We used to see these all the time on OFC.

Yep, See a lot of that in General section, were in should be in R &Raves section. Its easier to recognize yourself than be recognized by others.I'm sure that most parents like to see accomplishments made by there daughters/teams recognized publicly but it rarely happens. So it will continue.

Ya' know Coop, a person can't open their mouth without offending someone these days.

Of all Ohio's 88 counties, I had to randomly pick yours...

It is probably the same reason people can't wait to post that they played up for the week in a higher age group???? Yet when you look at the results they got knocked out in the first or second round of elimination or if they did happen to advance deep in the tournament when you look at the field they played in the po-dunk ville open with no real teams there instead of just playing against the good teams in their age bracket???

My question is how do you handle the situation where you meet another parent and they say " We won the Po-Dunk East coast invitational elite non sanctioned qualifier " last weekend and we played up this weekend. I struggle with being the person to burst their bubble... Always awkward seeing a team, who is visibly outmatched, thinking they belong in a tournament with seasoned players.

As the OP stated talking and writing in the third person is a detachment from potential (perceived by the reader) chest thumping? And it usually comes with the less experienced parents and coaches.

You don't...

Anything you say will be interpreted as "jealousy" or sour grapes. Let 'em think what they think. You're not going to convince the delusional people anyhow.

A friend of mine who's daughter and mine were teammates at one point just had that scenario a couple weekends ago. He told them, you know at the Dayton Metro where the sweet sixteen occurs? Well, that's where we started and got tougher from there. So the quarter fnals was the chaampionship of the Dayton Metro.

some of the posts in this thread kinda resemble the original point...we get it..your team is elite and the others aren't up to par...I mean, isn't that what most of you are saying? lol
