Hitting and Hitters Discussion tee stackers and spinners

I've been reading recently about two coaching aids that intrigue me.

One is the tee stackers. Has anyone tried them, and, could you just use some plastic pipe?

Also, I am interested in the spinners, but they seem expensive to buy if I was to get a half dozen or so. I was reading in a book that have that if necessary you could substitute a hockey puck. What are your opinions on these?

I have used the tee stackers that someone had and was not that impressed with them. We were using them on a tee with a rubber post and there was just too much movement. The ball constantly fell off so I feel we really did not get the feedback we were supposed to. Perhaps if it was one of those tees that was more solid the results would have been better.
My daughter is a pitcher and we haved used the spinners for 4 years now and I think they are one of the best tools I have ever seen for working on spins. Even before she was truly "learning" pitches she was practicing the spins with the spinners. As she has added pitches over the years the spinner practice has made it much easier to understand teh spins. Using the spinner has remained a regular part of her practice routine.

Not a big fan of the spinners but not against them either. I find that understanding how to spin a ball and then spinning one constantly and correctly is all you really need. A heavy ball will help with strength. A line around the ball will show you if it is going in the right direction. I'm always for working with the actual tools that you will use in the game. I believe a pitcher should spend time with a ball all day long. However.....with that said.......if your DD likes spinning the spinner and that gets her to spend more time doing so, than go for it. Spinning a lot and in the right direction is really what is important.

Tee Stackers were a Christmas present to one of my daughters. The other one is in college and asked me to order them for her. I ordered them immediately as her hitting instructor told her it would help her with her hitting. It is so nice to have a hitting instructor my daughter can call from college and get the information she needs.

He is so good that I can tell him where she hit the ball, and he can tell me what she did wrong.
