Teams, we at Ohio USSSA would like to thank you and your team for playing in events we hosted in Ohio for the 2016 season. Our season started way back in the fall of 2015 in Cincinnati and just concluded in Beavercreek this last weekend of July.

As you head in the fun time of the season known as tryouts, please keep USSSA in mind when making those teams and schedules for 2017. Fall schedules are already posted at http://www.usssa.com/fastpitch/eventSearch/#/?gdSport=16&state=31&stature=0. Additional dates may be added so check back often. Teams will need to register for the 2017 season to enter these events online.

Spring/Summer schedules will be posted once those are verified. Summer schedules get tough to post early as some Parks and Rec locations tend to not verify schedules this early since in their minds, the season is not over yet. Please be patient but we will get you info once we can verify it.

USSSA offers programs for all levels of play. We have our USA Elite Select (USAES) events for the showcase/top level teams seeking the best competition in the Midwest and the World Fast-Pitch Championships (WFC) will showcase the best teams in the USA in July. You may have seen these games on CBS Sports this past month. Ohio will be hosting a WFC qualifier in the USAES program in October at Berliner Park in Columbus.

We also offer A level events for the better teams on a state/regional level. Our B schedule is for the teams that might not compete on the level as the USAES and A teams compete at. We also offer class C. This level is for teams that are a little better than Rec league teams but may be not quite at the level of the teams that play every single weekend.

Class C is a schedule we will expand this season in Ohio. One thing to be aware of is when you register your teams, you only have the option for USAES, A, and B. Teams wishing to classify as C will have to choose B and then e-mail the state office to request to change their class to C. We do this to try to have the ability to research teams better to try to even out the competition level and do our best to keep those teams at the C level. We can't weed them all out, but we can try to even the playing field as much as possible.

If anyone has any questions, please contact me at 614-895-2253 or mike.craig@ohusssafp.org.

Again thanks for participating in Ohio USSSA events in the 2016 season.
