THE clinic...don't miss it!

We had a meeting today on the clinic putting together the details to hopefully make this the best clinic ever held in this area with two of the best in fast pitch actually doing hands on teaching not just talking about it.

The facility where we are holding the clinic, Weekend with the Gold, Silver and Pink is SWOBAT on Port Union Road in Westchester and they are looking to introduce their facility to the fast pitch community as an indoor facility with two infields and cages to rent. They are also adding the computer pitching machine to allow you to hit off many pitchers that can be programmed into the computer probably by mid October if not before.

They will be starting to advertise the clinic via the local press this week as many do not know about the OFC, hard to believe however it is true.

We anticipate a surge of local players and families from the tri state area to respond so we hope your registration form is in the mail. Spots are starting to fill especially for the pitching so you may not want to put if off much longer or there may not be a spot for you.

Again we are limiting the participation and will cut it off as advertised to keep the clinic's high quality.

There are a lot of people up North who are making the journey South to participate in this once in maybe a lifetime clinic environment of having Jennie and Crystl actually teaching at the same time...we hope to see you there!

I am talking to Crystl about actually having her hit after the clinic as we do for most clinic's, realizing it is an indoor facility so you really don't get the reality of seeing the ball travel over a 300 foot fence like we did at River Shores the year before last....maybe we can get Jennie to pitch...and there is an open field outside the facility, who knows what we can do if the weather is nice outside! We can launch them from the parking lot into the field...for those of you that have been to Slugger Feast...she put them over the road on the field that faces towards State Route 128 into the cornfield...I figure that is about 360 plus feet.

It should be fun! Hope to see you there!

Hey Tim, I would say where ever you hang that tire you better not be too close when Boulder is hitting-lol

As Howard said, this is going to be a great clinic. For anyone that has not had the pleasure of working with Howard or Crystl or attending one of their clinics you just can't imagine what it's like. I think if you check out other clinics (unless it's one of Crystl's which are always hands on) you will find some instruction but you wont find anyone like Howard and Crystl walking around and actually helping the girls out. Crystl will do everything in her power to help the girls learn and understand and have fun while doing it.

All the instructors working the clinic will be teaching the same technique and are always willing to stop and help the players out at anytime. I have actually seen Crystl lay on the floor in the cage with a girl who just didn't understand what to do with her feet when hitting. The girls are going to be able to walk away from the clinic with a new understanding and be able to put to use what they learn.

SWOBAT is doing everything they can to help ensure all the players get the most out of the weekend. Hopefully the softball community will enjoy the new facility and have a new place to spend the winter months working out.

For those of you who live in the Toledo area...my friend Leon Woods of MVP Hitting Solutions will be attending with us and working a station. Leon has worked clinics with Crystl and I before and has a vast amount of knowledge and understands the Right View Pro System and has worked with Don Slaught for several years.

Thanks Leon for taking the time out of your busy life to help us out...

On behalf of the team thank you.....Howard Carrier

I hope you are getting your registrations in as soon as possible...please do not wait till the last minute as this one may sell out!

Tim since you have now been certified how to teach hitting we would like you to work a station at the clinic....you will however be required to wear traditional attire, so please leave your Larry the Cable Guy shirt and hat at home....the tire is optional however like most doctors that hang out their name tags you may put a go cart tire on a 2 x 4 and put it at your station so everyone from the OFC will know who you really are...a Larry the Cable Guy look a like from Kentucky who lives in Dayton with your other brother Chris!

Crystl often asks how is what is his name...you know that little Guy that looks like Larry the Cable that has the lefty daughter that can hit the ball!

Thank you for coming to help us...The team!

Week End with the Gold, Silver and The Pink!

If you want to be sure to get the session of your choice be sure to get your registration and payment in soon. You won't get many opporutnities to work with as many qualified instructors as this one weekend.

Howard has put together a great group of people to work the stations for this clinic. With the help of SWOBAT this will be a great weekend for all the girls and their parents.

Momof15Z Spots are filling up. Still have some hitting spots available. It's getting to the point where getting payment in quickly will be the difference in getting your spot or taking a different time if one at all. Looking forward to seeing you and both DD's there!

Pitching spots are filling up quickly. As of Sept 2nd there are only 8 spots left for the Sunday morning session and 27 applications on file for those spots. The first 8 payments will secure that time. All other pitching sessions are almost as close to being full, and those spots will go to the people who have their payment in.

If registering now please add a note in the comment section of your day and time choice and if you have a second option you would be willing to take if the session you are registering for fills up.

Conformations are going out several times a week as payment is received. If you do not have a conformation within 7-10 days of sending in your payment please pm me and I will check on it for you.

NEW CLINIC NEWS!! It has just been confirmed that Three Time Olympic Gold and One Time Silver Medalist Laura Berg #44 Team USA will be joining us on Sunday October 5th for the hitting clinic. Unfortunately her schedule did not permit her to be here for Saturday, but she has made arrangments to be her for Sunday. Time permitting we may even have her demonstrate some fielding techniques-however hitting will be done first.

We are extremely happy she can join us for what will be the best clinic we have ever done in the area!

If the weather turns bad and your games get rained out (or snowed out considering we live in Ohio!!)or canceled that weekend this should be the place you decide to spend the day instead. Remember we are limiting it to the first 125 paid spots for hitting each day and it will be cut off at the door as we only have enough equipment set up to handle that number of hitters.

Due to the size of the facility and space we will not allow visitors in to observe unless they are accompained with a paid attendee. Wrist bands will be issued daily to maintain the number attending each day and to maintain crowd control.

We want those attending to have access to the clinic and to meet and talk with Crystl, Jennie and Laura and give you the opportunity to take pictures and get an autograph hopefully with their Gold and Silver medals!

We look forward to seeing you at the Weekend with the Gold, Silver and the Pink Clinic! Please do not wait for the last minute to sign up!

Marcia please stay in contact with MEB as to the slots still open...we got a few phone calls last night on a couple players with teams that had dropped out of a tournament that weekend and wanted to know if we still had any openings left. I will be at IWU over the weekend doing a clinic and will not have my cell phone on during the clinic however I will check at night.

Coach Sue Bowman will be working the clinic that Sunday and has at least four players signed up to attend from IWU.

Mizuno sent the two Frenzy bats and Rip It sent two bats...still waiting on the two Catalyst bats from Louisville. We will let the hitters try these bats out during the clinic.

Mike is trying to bring back 20 WhipHits from China to use at the clinic also and is bringing back some of the Tulsa weighted softballs.

Don't miss this opprtunity to work with Crystl, Jennie and Larua Burg. Laura will only be there Sunday due to her schedule.

It is the Weekend with the GOLD, SILVER and the PINK!

A special note to the hitters attending...Crystl and I recommend you bring a note book and pen to jot down important things to remember.

We will also provide you with the out line for hitting and a workout we use when you register so keep it with you throughout the day.

I'd have to say Crystl is still in fighting shape-she has always wanted to box. Still can't believe you would want to miss the clinic, though.

All sessions are filling up quickly. Anyone who has been to one of Crystl and Howards clinics know what a great job they do putting them on. Add in Jennie for the weekend and Laura on Sunday-can't find a better group of people to work with the local talent.

Since Laura is the US National Team practical joker I wonder which of our local people she will set her sights on....I'm thinking either Chris or Tim. Don't worry guys, nobody will give her any hints as to which one would be the better to pick on..
