There's no questioning the quality of softball in the offing for Monday at Fostoria High School.

The Northwest District All-Star Games are scheduled to commence at 6 p.m. First-team all-district selections from all four of the state's divisions will compete in games played simultaneously on FHS varsity and junior varsity fields. Which divisions stars will oppose one another will be determined on the day of the games.

Area trio shine in all-star game

FOSTORIA -- Clay's Kasey Graham and Springfield's Ashlyn Michalak combined to throw 81/3 innings of perfect softball Monday as the Division I squad defeated Division II 4-0 in the Northwest District All-Star Softball Games at Fostoria High School.

In the Division III-IV contest, Division III rolled to a 12-2 victory.

Lima Bath's Stephanie Sanders broke up the perfect game in the I-II game by shooting a single into center field off the glove of Michalak, who threw the last five innings with six strikeouts. Graham threw the initial four innings and fanned four. She also had two base hits and a RBI.

Fostoria's Keri Seel worked the fifth and six innings for Division II and retired all six batters she faced, including three on strikeouts.

In the Division III-IV game, Elmwood's Morgan Arnold had a RBI single for the Division III team.

Arlington's Shaunie Rettig ripped a run-scoring double for the Division IV squad.
