First off, please don't look at this as a generalization of umpires, being from Trumbull County, we have some of the best umps in the state! However, there are certain things that an Ump will do, that just erk me.
1. As a coach, when I come to, we'll say "discuss" a play or rule, please blue, don't let your first line of argument be "I've been doing this for xx years". Just seems ridiculous, 90% of the time, I just want to know the rule for my own knowledge growth!
2. When we disagree, and we will, as soon as I say ok, and walk away, you have to drop it, if your right, and I back down, why continue to argue with me? Also, if I choose to waste a little playing time arguing a call, I'll answer for it to my players and parents. Blue, do not waste my players playing time proving your point.
and remember, I don't feel this way about the majority of umpires, just a select few!
