CLASS ACT........After Springfield completed their second game, Rob Gwodz kept his team at the park and behind Anthony Wayne's bench for the last 3 innings of our game with Clay. They could of packed up and left on a late Saturday afternoon, but they hung around for us. Now let's not hear somebody say they were hanging around to see us get clubbed,..LOL. Everyone knows how these 2 teams scrap with each other, but on this day the 2 teams were the NLL and the TCL.

Thanks Rob and all the Springfield Blue Devil players,....Wayne Baker

I have no idea what they are doing, so I guess that is a good thing. I have been suprised by their last 2 picks, under Millen I think he drafted who the fans wanted. There is a reason we are fans and not NFL scouts or Personal guys lol. He didnt get that.

I had a good time, I want to send out a few shout outs lol.

Steph Andrews- Whitmer- Andrews hit a 2 out, bases loaded double in the bottom of the 7th with Whitmer down by 1 to give Whitmer the win in their first game. She also hit the ball hard off of the Mayor (Quimby) to drive in Whitmers only run against Perrysburg. The Soph had an outstanding day in the field as well.

Kelly Malloy- Whitmer- The Senior Captain was injured and had to be taken out of the Maumee game, with the game on the line against Perrysburg, she pinched hit. Only to be drilled on the arm by the second pitch in the AB. The kid is a gamer.

Hats off to the NDA girls. They had prom the night before, stayed at the after Prom until 4 am ish, were at the field by 12:30 pm and played 2, 1 run games. All this and they had a 6 am practice friday so the girls could get ready for Prom. That is a busy day and regardless of the league you pull for you have to be impressed with those kids and the effort they put into their games yesterday.

Start- Everytime they got a hit, made a nice catch or scored a run those kids were cheering like crazy. I thought they were winning the Perrysburg game lol, I went over and asked a Start parent and he said, no we are done 6-0 lol and they were no Hit, but hey I give those kids credit for having a good time and cheering their team on.

Maumee- After a heart breaking loss in the 7th inning they were able to come back and win a game in the bottom of the 7th.

Perrysburg- Back up pitchers Rich and the Mayor both pitched no hitters.

There were alot of people out there this weekend, it was a really good time. I hope they keep this going. There needs to be some tweaking, heat once brought up doing a poll of coaches and seeding teams by league that way, that idea is gaining some momentum. There is no way Start should have one of the toughest schedules this year.

I must say that this is one of my favorite softball events. There is nothing better than seeing the kids from the various schools mingling together in their different color uniforms, as well as the coaches and parents/fans. The competition is great, but it's the things that happen outside the lines that really show what a great sport we are involved in.

thanks 643dp, but the park credit goes to John Kolbow and staff, they do EVERYTHING I have asked to promote softball in NWO., i'm proud of the community and staff in Maumee, they do everthing possible for youth. Some really great games I saw in the morning session also, Central vs. South View and SUA vs. Northview were tight games. How about those bulldogs of Rossford, great win over a tough SUA team.
