He can probably do at least 15 texts per minute. 10,000 texts would only take them 667 minutes or 11 hours. In a 318 hour time span that leaves 307 minutes for him to pick his nose. LOL

I have tried to talk to my DD as she txts. She can txt several people, watch tv, and do homework. 3.65 gpa. When I was a kid it was called ADD now we call it multitasking....

As far as not knowing what is going on with them because of facebook texting and etc, shame on you...that is an excellent resource for parents to be able to not only see what's happening with your child, but also your childs friends. You would be amazed at what you can find out about people. Businesses use it when hiring, colleges use it when accepting students, why not parents? Mine know that their phones and their Internet usage will be monitored or else they won't have it for long!

Call me paranoid, call me nosey?! I don't care. I wish more parents would do the same!

Yes, I agree it is good to be nosey and to monitor internet and cell phone usage. Facebook is a great way to get some idea of what's going on in your kid's lives. Don't know too many parents who would disagree with that. Parents, however, aren't reading every text message, nor visiting every facebook page or internet site that their child has access to. The age of technology has made it a very daunting task to keep up with children's social lives. Twenty years ago teenagers would communicate either in person or through a house phone; options were limited. Now we have texting, im'ing, facebook, email, tweeting, cell phones, and internet social forums. Monitoring is a great way to find out what's going on in kid's lives, but it is an impossible to monitor every text message and facebook page unless restrictions are placed. Even if you limited 3 kids to 1 hour of facebook a day and 500 text messages a month, that would add up to 1500 messages and 90 hours of facebook pages to read every month. There's no way to know everything going on in our children's lives; this has always been the case, but I wonder if parents know more or less about kids's lives than they did twenty years ago. Children definitely have more ways than ever to communicate with their friends and acquaintances.
