A couple more to add to criteria from a parents / players point of view:

- Over time how many girls out of the organization have gone on to play college softball?
- Are the college softball coaches familiar with the organization

I can run off a list of the teams that win the most often, have the biggest following, get the most press, etc... I think the best organization/team is the one that leaves your dd jonesing and excited for next year even though the current season has not yet come to a close.

With all the time that our dd's and our families dedicate to this GAME, in the end it sure better have been fun. JMHO

I think it helps to narrow some organizations as to how long they have been an organization. Some have come and gone, some have been consistantly fielding competitive teams for years.
There are others that have not been mentioned , not that this not good ie: look at the Elyria Sundogs this past season. They have helped to get the attention of Ohio Fast Pitch, great for all teams from Ohio.
Then there are also the "ONE HIT" wonders that maybe only had one team, but were very competitive.
Lots of good teams here, but there are some that have not been around long, have not had proven teams, coaches and girls going to the next level. Also teams that are consistantly trying to fill rosters. Teams with good reputations and proven organizations do not seem to have these issues.

I'll have to disagree with you on this point. I know for a fact that our teams could have taken players to fill the roster spots that are open, but we are building a team and not filling rosters. Is it fair to anyone to take a player that won't benefit the team as a whole?!

There are teams (some very well known ones) that will take a player with very little intention of them seeing the field. Why? I don't want to speculate on that point.

I agree with B,s Dad........... If you want to know the top orgs look who is in the toughest Tournys year in and year out... and were there late on Sunday.. some of the ones we always saw were, Extreme, Laser green MVX Red, Doom 92, Classic Black, Wolf Pack Black, Laser, Blue and Purple, Nightmare,............. I know I missed one or two , but those are the ones that stick out in my mind that were the most memorable games and also from a year 92 standpoint, alot of teams are trying to move up and be the elite........... very cool to see that happen in ohio

Not one NW Ohio team mentioned yet. How about breaking this down by region. NE, NW, Central, SE and SW Ohio.

They have fastpitch in NWO?? Most teams never venture outside Lucas county, therefore they are never seen.;&

Got me thinking...has anyone ever played a team from NWO outside of that area??

Well just this fall our little NWO team has played these travel teams from Ohio and Pennsylvania.

SGS Magic 16 Ohio Ice (Gold) 4
SGS Magic 7 Miami Valley Express 3
SGS Magic 14 Pennsylvania Cyclones 6
SGS Magic 10 OFC Heat-Orange 6

Since you've joined the Heat, you like to bash NWO softball - Tournaments and teams, its funny. Must be tired of getting your butt kicked.

PM Magic16 see if your juggernaut of a team can get a friendly with him this summer :lmao:

You'd almost have to break it down not only by region, but by age. An organization that has really successful older teams might not be so tough in the younger age groups.
