It's funny no one has mentioned Holland Springfield for D1. They're only averaging 11 runs per game during the tournament. Only two teams has held them to under that amount-Perryburg and Westlake. And Westlake is the only team that really fought them.

Nobody said a thing about this. The post said that Taran Alvelo threw a PERFECT GAME. This isn't just a win. This isn't just a shutout. This isn't just a no-hitter. This is 18 batters up, 18 batters down. AND...this happened in the Regional tourney. This wasn't in a pre-season scrimmage against a horrible team...this is in the state title race!!
She couldn't do that without a solid catcher and I'm sure there were some good defensive plays. Congrats Taran Alvelo on your perfect game in the regional tourney!

I'm only speaking for myself, but...
Taran Alvelo is without a doubt Ohio High School softball's version of Lebron James. Not only is she the ace pitcher for the Beverly Bandits Conroy, she is also a recruit for University of Washington. She is also regarded as one of the top pitching prospects in the country. So when she throws a perfect game in the playoffs, I think- Yes, she did-great job, and she probably comes close to throwing a perfect game all the time, but when you are so dominant for 4 years, it's like when Lebron throws down a 34-12-10 triple double in the playoffs- that's what we've come to expect from a legitimate superstar.

Granville beat Jefferson 1-0 with a no-hitter for their pitcher.

Keystone just hit a line drive off the side of the Lakewood pitcher's face that deflected to the 2nd baseman for an out who then stepped on 2nd for a double play. No mask but she appears to be OK.

Lakewood Defeats Keystone 4-0. Vierstra with 14K's and 1 hit to set up a rematch with Granville in an all Licking County League final. Lakewood swept the regular season series but Barker is on fire so that is anybody's game.

DII was up for grabs for sure.. The last 4 all had outstanding teams. The Granville/Jefferson game was just a pitching duel! I have see the Jefferson pitcher a number of times and her size and velocity are intimidating!

Lebanon had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs early in the game and did not score. 0-0 game. Glenoak had bases loaded with no outs top of 7th and didn't score. Lebanon with a single, a SAC bunt and a single to win 1-0.

Interesting, was hoping their girls could do it without her to show a Team is more than one individual......be Curious what Washington has to say...... Yes I know they are just kids, but damn, don't make bad choices girls!
