I was curious why there is no TOURNAMENT TEAM SUMMER LEAGUES. As an example there are boys baseball leagues that allow tournament teams to play in but I am only aware of summer fast pitch leagues that forbid tournament teams to play in......Could someone fill me in as to why?????

Maybe because most teams play nearly every weekend. You need down time to recover, plus where would you make time for any practices.

With tournaments starting on Thursday's and Friday's and practices once or twice a week....there isn't any time to play in leauges during the week. They only get a few days off a week to just chill out as it is.

In Minnesota if you want to play ASA, travel teams are REQUIRED to be in a league and play a minimum of five league games. It's a complete waste of time. None of the girls like playing league games during the week. The parents hate driving cross town in rush hour traffic. And for the most part the games are not competitive. They have a completely different feel to them. Much prefer the Ohio way of not mandating that teams play in a league. There is nothing worse than making a deep run on Sunday in a tournament, and then having to play some silly league double header on a Monday night.
