I don't have the scores.

Pitt. Power beat Diamond Dolls in one semi-final.
NWO Lady Irish Gold beat Valley Extreme in the other.

Well, we had the "dis-pleasure" of losing to each of the co-champs over the weekend. Two fine teams, who were playing very well this past weekend. Would have liked to watch that Championship Game, as a fastpitch fan.

Congrats to two VERY good teams.

Pickledad,

Thanks for the "Congrats". We had a nice time in North Ridgeville (even dodging raindrops).

It was good to see your team again - a very good team, which if I am not mistaken, are mostly, if not all, 13-year olds? We were able to watch a few innings of your game against the Lady Irish. Not sure what we missed, but both teams looked pretty solid while we were watching. Nice pitchers were doing well for both teams.

Power Shepard is going to the ASA Eastern Nationals - we understand that the Lady Irish will be there as well - perhaps we'll have the opportunity to face each other then.

Hey fastpitch123,

Yeah, our girls are all 13's, plus a 12, next year will be better I am sure, but we will still run into you playing up here & there probably. No excuses though, we need to play better in those few clutch moments when most games between good teams are won or lost. Irish got the clutch hits, which was not luck, just good softball. We had 2nd&3rd in the first with a chance to answer, and bases loaded no outs in the middle of the game - each snuffed out without runs due to tight defense by the Irish. I believe somebody stole our mojo, ba-by ... >:(

Good luck to you all down the road, hope we get another shot at you ;) ... I believe the pitcher (#16) we faced is your dd, correct? Very nice pitcher, especially on limited sleep!

Are you coming to Columbus for NSA? I see that you are not listed as of now?

Hello Pickledad,

No, my daughter is #1, the one who pitched against your team in Boardman. If your daughter was the pitcher against the Lady Irish this past weekend, I believe our DDs are friends. At Uncle Stan's, my DD played center field against you and pitched against the Diamond Dolls during the semi-finals. If you are who I think you are (I apologize if I'm wrong), my nephew dated your older daughter a while back - small world, isn't it! ;)

BTW - yes our #16 is an excellent pitcher. She is extremely consistent (with or without sleep LOL).

LOL, no, my dd plays CF, but I am sure you just got our pitcher's dad's attention ;D

Both of those ladies are excellent pitchers, and I remember them both well. Number 97 looked like she can sling it also. I am the scorekeeper, btw ...

Anyways, good luck again, hope you all decide to come to Columbus for NSA. We stayed at the same hotel with your gang when we were part of the Lasers Silver 11u two years ago, and some of us STILL talk about those late nights, playing cards, and that poor hotel manager just trying to do his job ... good times :)

Is she the one that had that terrible shiner? That one looked rough. Did she take a hard comebacker on the mound? She seemed to be alright tho. I saw her warming up after we lost to the Irish in the semi final game, and she seemed to be smiling a lot. Good luck to her and you guys the rest of the season. :)

OMGoodnes - So sorry! You just never know do you. I apologize and will definitely stop by and introduce myself the next time I see your team. I always say hello to many on your team, but just assumed you were the pitcher's dad (LOL) - afterall, Pickle is such a cute nickname (dd), and you are both such nice gentlemen (is that enough sucking up for my identity faux pah - ha ha).

Yes, we are very fortunate to have such depth in pitching.

No, we are going to the ASA Eastern Nationals this year in Salem, Virginia, and are attending a showcase in S.Carolina. Cannot add anymore to our schedule. Oh yes, the hotel in Columbus .... now that is a great story - lots of fun by all. I will miss the late-nite poker games and really enjoyed getting to know all of you. We wish you the best at the NSA Nationals and look forward to seeing you all on the field again soon. With such a young team, you will definitely be a team to watch in 2009. Good luck!
