Years ago I had to register for some web site, I was told I must (work thing) so I just stuck "must" in front of the name of the web site. Started doing that for any web site I registered for. Guess cause I must. :cap:

S.o.c.c.e.r. is the Antisport - My parents gave me my name about 50 years ago. When Posh and her husband came to the states I got inundated with emails looking for handouts. some people even sent photographs with proposals... the photos were pretty bad.

Ah, most people think that "johnnies" is a derivative of my name. Actually it isn?t.

When I use to frequent the "other" board, my handle was "jtheat", which is a combination of Johnstown and Buckeye Heat. When I came to OFC many moons ago, I wanted a different handle so the Huddlers couldn't track me down. (Hey, I was innocent!)

I was going to change it to "bwheat" but I thought that some might have taken that as a rip off of "Buckwheat" and did not want to rile any "politically sensitive" posters so I racked my brain for another screen name. I considered many including:

BHTBC (Buckeye Heat third base coach), BTBICP (Bugtussle's Tire, Battery and Ice Cream Parlor), EagleEye, Merlin, WhoMe?, WhatsTheScore, Like A Rock, Hulk Jr, Heater, DYSS (Did you say something),etc. I wrestled with it for a while until my better half suggest I just go with something "less stupid" - so I chose "johnnies" which is the mascot of Johnstown High School. I almost went with DYSS.

Now you know the rest of the story.

From Wikipedia: The Merlion is an imaginary creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and "lion". The fish body comes from Singapore's ancient name back when it was a fishing village "Temasek" meaning "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name "Singapura" meaning "lion city" or "kota singa" in Sanskrit and Malay.

I chose this as a reminder of the time my family and I spent in Southeast Asia in the late 90's-early 00's. I was on assignment for the company I was working for at the time, and their Asia-Pacific office was located in Singapore. We lived not that far away in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and I travelled back and forth frequently.

If you like low 90's with high humidity year round, you'd be very happy over there. We were. I think it got down to 74 one night. BRRRRR!!!

Last name is Zeigler - hubby has been ziggy since forever, which left me with Ziggywoman.

Her older brother is the one who got the bad end of the deal; he is referred to as BroO (bro-O) by a bunch of teenage girls and is embarrassed by that. That makes them use it all the more.

I will tell my son not to be too embarrassed - his sister's nick name is Mo, so he is MoBro

I don't know if the area outside of a softball field is technically called the "sidelines" but the word does define where most of us parents serve out our sentences while our daughters play the game.

So I became "sideliner." Now I wish that I had come up with some kind of cool superhero costume, like Neutron Man or the Famous Chicken.
