Hitting and Hitters Discussion using a weight

?My DD was recently yelled at by an umpire for using a weight on her bat while she was on deck. ?She has used it for awhile now and no umpire has had a problem with it until recently. ?I was wondering if there were any rules about using a weight. ?

Speaking ASA, a weighted "donut" is forbidden.

As for how this should be handled, "yelling" at a player is bad form for an umpire. Simply telling the player to remove the weight should suffice.
