Ohio USSSA - Summer Shootout "Class C/Rec-All Star teams" - July 16-17, 2016.
USSSA - 2016 National Championship Qualifier (NCQ).
John Bishop Park - Whitehall 43213. This is a new event restricted to teams classified as USSSA C or Rec/All-Star. No class A/B players permitted.
Preferred format is 2 games seeding into single-elimination bracket play.

USSSA - 2016 Class C qualifying event open to 10u, 12u, & JV (14u/15u/16u) divisions. National Championship berths will be offered to the top 2 teams in each age group. USSSA National Championship locations are listed here: 2016 USSSA - National Championships link. Class C Nationals are in Columbus, IN the week of July 20-24, 2016.

Entry fee is $300 plus $35 USSSA 2016 sanction fee if not already sanctioned.
Weekend team insurance policy is included in the entry fee. If you need to sanction, please click here: USSSA Team Sanction Info. TEAMS CAN ENTER WHILE THEIR SANCTION IS PENDING. We will take $100 deposits to hold spots. This event fills fast, so get your info in quickly.

Added teams. This is the last call for any teams wanting to enter. Would like to get 1 more in each division if possible. Contact my office by tomorrow afternoon if interested.

A couple of quick items about class C in USSSA:
1. It is meant to be a place to bridge the gap between community travel and rec/all-star. Teams that may not play as much as a B team but definitely wants more than waiting for the Rec/All-Star tournaments to take shape and teams attempting to play a Class B schedule that are showing winning percentages or about 25% or less meaning they might win 1 game or maybe 0 per weekend when they play.
2. When a team wins two events in class C, they will automatically be reclassified to B for the remainder of the season.
3. This is our "test" tournament for this program for 2016. We will have a regular class C schedule for the 2017 season.
4. This not meant to be a "trophy" hunter classification. Teams can only choose A or B when they register online with USSSA. They have to e-mail the state office to have their team classified as C or Rec.
5. When you reform teams here in August keep this in mind: USSSA - Class C is the perfect place to develop players and parents. Some times the parents are all gungho until they see the practice and tournament schedule. Class C can be a place to transition both the player and parents into travel softball and the expectations and demands on practice and time involved.

REMINDER: Coach/Manager MUST CHECK in Prior to your first GAME with Official USSSA Online Roster. Please bring a signed copy of Roster to leave with the Tournament Director. Event check-in will be at the pavilion to the left of the concession stand. This is also where game updates will be posted along with tournament staff to assist.

ROSTER: PLEASE FILL OUT THE USSSA ONLINE ROSTER IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO.
All teams MUST have an Official USSSA ONLINE roster, filled out, and printed with player and parents signatures. BRING A SIGNED COPY TO LEAVE AT TOURNAMENT SITE. THIS COPY of the SIGNED ONLINE ROSTER WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU. Teams will not be allowed to participate without it.

BATS: Only USSSA approved bats will be allowed. Bats must have the 2012 USSSA silkscreen on them. Bats without that logo are not permitted to be used. Note: It is the coaches/players' responsibility to check their bat(s) prior to bringing them into play. Penalty: Player is declared an OUT - PLAYER AND COACH are EJECTED FROM THE GAME. It is the coach/managers responsibility to know the rules and bylaws of USSSA. METAL CLEATS are only permitted for age groups 13u and older. Ignorance of a rule or bylaw does not negate the penalty. USSSA rule book is available online 24/7 at USSSA 2015/16 Online Rulebook.

Weather update information during the event will be provided by the onsite tournament director and the USSSA online system. Texting charges may apply. We use the USSSA system to send out alerts and updates. Please make sure that your coaching staff info has been loaded to the system. A good rule of thumb is to also list for your players their parent's emails and cell phones if you choose. I send updates to coaches and players and this can make life easier for you to get information out quickly.

Parking/Gate fees will not be charged at this tournament: Parking rules for John Bishop Park: Cars must park on paved surfaces. No parking on the grass. The city of Whitehall will tow cars parked on the grass. The senior center is for tournament and concession staff only.
