The Valley Extreme Softball Organization will be hosting a 18U ASA National Qualifier Tournament on 6/23, 6/24, & 6/25

?ASA National Qualifier Tournament

?Cost $300 per team

?3 Game Minimum (weather permitting)

?Triple Elimination Tournament

?Maximum 16 teams

?18U Age Group

?Winner will be awarded a berth to ASA Nationals

?ASA Rules, balls, and umpires (two per game)

?There will be an individual admission fee per person ? infants and pre-school are free (manager & team players are free)

?Must be ASA sanctioned and be able to show proof of accidental & liability insurance at check in

?Team and individual trophies for 1st and 2nd place.

All games will be played at the Candlelight Knolls Complex. ? ?The Candlelight Knolls Complex has four groomed fields with concessions, ample parking, restrooms, and space for team warm-ups.

wasent this a 14u tourny last year just wondering why it has been moved to 18u?

All ASA National Qualifiers are awarded on "closed" bids....

We bid on both the 14U and 18U, and I will just assume that since we were so successful last year we had gotten out bid for the 14U age group for this year.

Several 14U teams have contacted me to express their disappointment that we were not awarded the 14U age group this year.

Fairborn, OH is in the southwest part of the state near Dayton. It is close to where I-70 meets I-675.

This tournament will award a "single" berth to the ASA Girl's "A" 18U tournament planned for Owensboro, Kentucky the week of 7/31 through 8/6.

This tournament will close at noon on 6/17, and the tournament draw will take place on 6/18. Tournament bracket information will be e-mail and posted to our web site on 6/19.

We have extended the last day until the mailing on 6/21. ? All entries now will need to be a cashier's or bank check, and be received by the end of the day on 6/21. ? ?All teams will be called the evening of 6/21 to let them know who they play, when they play, and what field number they will be playing on.

We have also been contacted by Youngstown State University and Ashland University.

We just picked up our 15th team (Ohio Stars), after the mail gets delivered tomorrow 6/21 (lunchtime) we will randomly select the teams into the tournament. ? ?First teams picked we receive any available byes. ?We will then call all teams and let them know who they play, when they play, and what field they play on.

We will also follow up with an e-mail later in the afternoon, and have all information posted on our web site at www.valleyextreme.com

Ohio Bandits have qualified for the 18u ASA Nationals which will be in Owensboro, Kentucky.They forfeited at Cortland so they would not lose their national berth that they already had.

I also saw that another team forfeited later in the day on Sunday so some kids could go to a banquet? That is really low to play and knock out some teams that intended to try and win to get qualified. Why did you bother getting in the tournament if you had no intentions of finishing it? They certainly must have known this ahead of time. I understand the Bandits had no choice because of qualifying earlier but this is really poor sportsmanship.
