WCWS - Who do you like?

We are rooting for Oklahoma, Alabama, Missouri and Florida. My dd is making her first trip to watch the games with her Grandma-We got lucky and got seats in the section right behind home plate:yahoo:

Has anyone ever been to the games? Any tips anyone want to share once she gets there?

I haven't been to the WCWS, but did go to the KFC World Cup there in OKC last July. It's a beautiful stadium. There aren't any real bad seats, but it is definitely better to be under the roofed section when the sun is beating down.

Gotta like my home state of Florida again this year. Hoping Bamma goes far also. Murphy is top notch coach and guy! All SEC.. was sad to see Kentucky and GA get knocked out!

Here is the best shot I have of that section.

I say K Ricketts and her left arm that throws 72 MPH with movement gets the Title. But heart says Gators or Tide.

Jackie Traina for 'Bama had that kind of velocity and movement too. When she came in and finished off Stanford the other night, I was blown away.

The Golden Bears , Baylor or Florida ,Im leaning towards Florida becuase they can simply hit the ball but love to see Baylor or Califorinia in the championship.

Daughter is a big Gator fan so we are going with Florida even though all but one player is from Florida or California. I prefer my teams to have a Midwestern flavor.

I'm rooting for Bama. After watching Kelcie Dunne for the last 3 years, I hope she, her teammates at Pat Murphy can win it. Also rooting for OU and Keilani Ricketts and Mizzou. Anybody but the PAC 10.

I think Florida wins it. I think Arizona State will be hard to beat with Escobedo, but I will go with the offense and Florida.

Missouri - 3rd time there in a row, 5-1 against other Big 12 teams in the finals and their pitcher seems to be one of the best left. I look for them to break through and win it

I word of advice is about the heat. If you are planning on seeing every game then pay attention to the heat and pace yourself. Make sure you don't kill your grandmother with the sun. The overhang works most of the day but I remember the sun bearing in. The days can get plenty long. Perhaps take separate cars so that the faint of heart can go home to cool off and the die hard fans can stay. Lots of water and sunblock. Usually you can move around the stadium at least during the opening rounds to enjoy the view form various seats. Pick a team and sit with those fans and enjoy their craziness. Relax and be prepared for some of the greatest softball you'll ever see and just then, some bone-headed play that you'd expect to see on your 12u decides the game.... It will be a great week.

I had my dd there and to see the games though her eyes was very special. We've played games for a decade but never watched one together let alone a dozen; man was she insightful. I'll treasure that memory along with my mom almost coming to blows with some fans over their rowdiness (it was the heat talking) Have a great time!

Thanks for the advice! I dropped them off at the airport this morning and they are in OKC now. I am hoping they have great time and my mom can take the heat-I told to stay well hydrated! and stay out of the sun! Hopefully my mom will do OK today. My dd is very excited.

Baylor wins a pitcher's duel with a walk-off home run. Next up Alabama. I'll set the dvr to record that. One of my favorites will have to lose that game.
