Most american cars are not made in the usa anymore. ?Sad but true. ?Line up sheep, buy american, so we can downsize you, up your health care then hit the unemployment line because the product you used to make we now make in china for $2 a hour. ?Oh, by the way....don't pay attention to my 15 million dollar bonus. ?After all, I went to college therefore I deserve it. ?

Yours truly, Dick Cheney

Most American cars are still made here! How many people especially in our region of the US are employed by either GM,Ford,Chrysler or an affiliate such as Lear or Intier or the hundreds of other companies that supply parts or services to them. When these cars are purchased the money Stays in the US economy! When foreign cars are bought the money from them goes right back over seas to the country of origin. Take a minute and look around we support all of these countries by buying their automobiles but look at Japan,China, etc. and do you see them driving American cars? Absolutely NOT because they are loyal to their own country unlike alot of us. So go ahead and be proud of your toyota, hyundai or Honda just dont attempt to justify yourself by telling us how the others are not American! >:(

Last time I looked there was a Honda Plant out in Marysville, Toyota in Tenn, BMW in Spartanburg and others that gives many locals employment. They actually build better cars there than ford or gm. I have had many of the American cars over the years and the quality of them has gone down tri fold as compared to the Hondas in which were my last two. Always swore to buy American cars, but sadly they put themselves where they are.

Both have good points. Notice today how workers are hurting, unemployment is high, doller is low, but company earnings are at an all time high. How can US companies be doing so well, but the population still suffers? C H I N A AKA WALMART. As Ross Perot said "My fellow Americans, you will here a gaint sucking sound out of the south (NAFTA) Well, he got Mexico right but forgot about China.

The American companies never put quality first. With several engineers in our family, they are always amazed at the "6-month plan" of American companies vs. the "10-year plan" of the foreign companies. We've owned one foreign car and it is still the best car we have ever had and it's 9 years old. As far as clothing, most of the Made in the USA are too expensive to buy 3 growing kids.

I was reading somewhere recently that the Ford Crown Vic. is or about to start being made in Russia.

Hyundai's I believe are made in GA. Honda is made in Marysville, so what car do I buy to support my country :-?

Those are a small percentage of the rice burners that are made here. That is the kind of thinking that has gotten the economy in the shape it is. The american cars last just as long as the others big myth.

These cars are only assembled here! The profits are sent back overseas to their countries to boost their economies not ours! Yes we have a few plants here and they provide employment for some but you must look at the big picture. So go ahead and park your foreign car in your driveway next to your flag pole with the American Flag flying high.NICE! But dont run around and complain about how "bad" our economy is when you barely even support it! :'(

Oh look, another Ford recall this week the second one in two weeks, Oh yeah QUALITY IS JOB ONE....

That's Funny Extreme, I guess we had better just pull up stakes and start learning to speak Japanese huh?

Please, don't gag me with the not being American rhetoric nonsense. I support this country as do others who have better quality built cars more than anyone else. If the quality of the workforce putting these things together in Detroit got their heads out of the sand, maybe the rattle in my right door of my Ford, wouldn't have been the beer can they found in it, or the recall of the tires that just exploded, or the cruise control recall, or the faulty suspension spring or shall I continue.... yes even the Japanese ones have issues, but no where near as many and if my car doesn't work, I can't make money to support our Economy.

Heck the business I work for has 1/3 of our entire hotel portfolio overseas and the future growth which is going to be another 300 properties or so built out of the country before 2010, that supports our Home offices in Washington DC and our American economy, could have the same thinking in reverse in their minds as well....HMMMMM thoughts to ponder

Please......
