I'm setting next to the largest Toyota plant in the US that must employ at least a few thousand Americans. They are Americans that would be out of a job if no one bought the product that they make. So who cares if you buy and drive american or a foreign. No matter which you are supporting some Americans and some over seas. Ask your self what kind of tv you have on your wall?? Toshibia, Sony, ???

It is a few minutes past 9am on this Friday morning and Im happy to report no snow yet! Our dd has a basketball tournament this weekend and needless to say if they will be able to get this in. Scary part is its in Sandusky (St.Marys school),which the school is a snowballs throw from Lake Erie. So Im sure we will get even more there.

DD is at a youth convention at sawmill creek (sandusky). They left at 3:30 and took an hour and half to get there, normally an hour drive. They don't come home till Sunday, Maybe it will stop by then. Lakeeriehillbilly, good luck with the drive and the game.

By the way the US stands for freedom doesn't it. Like freedom to purchase what we like? We were always american car people until Dec. 06. When we found out most of our Dodge caravan was made oversees, and the Honda, here in Ohio, well that sealed the deal. Yes i'm thankful to all of our vets who have given us the many right that we all take for granted. I hope you are not too insulted by my foreign car (vets), but I love it!

I know the company (ohio based) I work for in Pgh is now expanding to include an office overseas, as they layoff Ohio employees (man I sure hope my boss doesn't see this but don't think he gives a crap about softball)
We've expanded to six states over the last 3 years, now overseas but can't keep our local folks onboard.
As families we have budgets and try to live within them, why can't the government ? Soon I'll be landlocked by toll roads, which is ultimately who I work for. I'll have to pay my boss to go to work and just about everywhere else once I leave my house on a major interstate and while putting the gas in my vehicle with the taxes added on top. Something is wrong with that picture.

Thanks fstptch! That is where our tournament is at,in Sandusky near downtown Sandusky at the St.Marys school. I know where where Sawmill Creek is at,hopefully they will have route 2 and route 6 cleared of for ya! I guess it was worth the trip being that we won our 1st round game 37-12. Route 250 was horrible coming back home. Will haft to be back there again tomorrow.

I love those big SUV's if you are going to travel any distance thats the only way to go, had a Tahoe and loved it, but with 3 dollar a gallon gas its tough on a middle income family.

My work car is now 5 years old, in 2003 that model was rated at 33mpg the 2008 is rated at 33mpg, Detriot seems like they don't care about it or maybe they just don't get it, there is no excuse for no increase in fuel economy over a five year period. I am just as upset at the big Three as I am at the oil companies.

If GM could sell me a Tahoe that gets 50mpg I would buy it today, then it wouldn't hurt so much to buy the 3 dollar gas.

I am sure that the big shots at Ford, GM and Chrysler own a lot of stock in the oil companies so why give us cars and trucks that get good mileage.

Until that day Toyota and Honda will continue to get a larger share of the market

nice link. I was working at a plant that a guy drove an old suburban deisal that he actually ran off of used french fry oil! Boy did it smell good! Think I gained 5 pounds in the parking lot talking to him. It seems the economy is set up to keep prices high over the last 6 years. Does anybody know what high gas prices coincide with? IRAQ! The whole thing with record profits from the oil companies and haliburton contracts really saddens me. When is enough, enough? GOD, I sound like my dad 25 years ago!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH! :'(

Actually, high gas prices are due to high oil prices and high demand. China is using exponentially more oil as each year goes by and it is only going to get worse. Do we cut back (as a nation) when the prices go up? No. It's simple high school economics which I don't think are being taught these days - supply and demand. If it was about Iraq, we would be at 50 cents a gallon since we could take what we want.

While out today driving unhindered in the 4wd man machine I had some observations. First off, you guys driving BMW M3's are only embarrassing yourselves. Your toys arn't so cool when you get stuck at every intersection. And second people, the fast lane on the freeway is for passing traffic, not being a scared white knuckled wimp driving at a blistering 20 MPH. If you really can't handle driving in the snow move to Dallas or someplace similar where all the rest of your kind live.

P.S.
And how is it when a person drives the same road every day that after a snowfall you are totally clueless on where the lanes are and just drive right down the MIDDLE? >:(
