What did we learn from LeBron James and the Cavaliers lost to New York Knicks?

Girl Fastpitch Softball Coaches, Parents and Players what did we learn watching LeBron James and Cavaliers first home game loss to the New York Knicks Thursday night?

Cleveland moment in the Sports World Spot Light and most likely the biggest moment for the Cavaliers fans had finally arrived.

Was the hype to much for even LeBron James and his team mates to over come?

LeBron James had 7 - 8 turnovers in the lost to the Knicks.

So Fastpitchforum what did we learn from watching?

#TeamTSZ,

Thanks JoeA for the concept.

Forgetting the loss, we learned that the wonderful city of Cleveland can comfortably host a media/celebrity circus that the Lebron James train brings in. So why couldn't the city of Cleveland host a Super Bowl? Start the push...Super Bowl 2018 @ FirstEnergy Stadium!

Right over here!
We Learned or confirmed it takes everyone on the court (field) to contribute in order to win.

Even the best have off days..

We learned Love is a beast in the paint and can drain the 3 ball. He was the story of the night.......

We learned that it can take time for a new team (including coach) to mesh together.

We learned that on a given day, most any team can beat another.

I learned that it doesn't matter who is playing, even Jesus can come down and play for Cleveland, we will still lose. #Cleveland sucks

Bingo! Just because you have tons of talent doesn't mean you will win insistently, they have to learn how to play together. Miami lost there first game when LBG, D Wade, and Chris Bosh came together.

Whoo! thats a bit strong for the first game of the season isn't it? Most people wait till at lest 10games in to give up hope...
Plus - I'm Fairly sure the Risen Lord would rain buckets from the three point line and his D would be tight.

Yeah I gotta agree....... I think Jesus would have some stellar D. Probably a nasty fade away to with it, and forget about the dunks he could perform! Seriously though, the Cavs will be fine, Kyrie, and Love kept that game close. Lebron will be a beast as always, some folks just need to remember that yes he is human. They'll mesh and when they do.......... look out.

Disagree... would take Jesus for Waiters and Thompson + draft pick ... if that's not available same deal for Hibbert.

We learned what it takes to win games and what doesn't win games. In basketball, winning requires good shooting, good passing, good blocking out and rebounding, good individual and team defense; overall, it takes execution. In softball, it takes good pitching, good hitting, good fielding, good throws, good baserunning, smart decisions, etc.

What will not suffice for winning in any sport is pure emotion. The Cavs had all the emotion and cheering and crowd energy and all the intangibles on their side last night. They had an entire "dugout" of 18,000 people screaming cheers, they had music, the PA announcer, all the hype of LeBron and everything else. One would have thought the score was 30-0 before the ball was ever tipped. Nobody would have predicted the Cavs to lose that game. A bettor probably would have had to lay an extra 5-6 points just because of the hype (which meant that the Knicks would have been a great play for maximum value).

Yet when the ball really was tipped and all the distractions were eliminated, what you had was a 0-0 score, one team against another, and the team that simply played better basketball winning the game. Same goes for softball. Cheer, chant, dance, huddle, etc., all you want, but never forget that what wins games is pitching, hitting, fielding, throwing, baserunning and smart decisions.
