You play the game to win right ????? You dont want the score ran up dont let it happen. You have always got the choice to call the game. As far as getting plunked thats part of the game even without cause. Just puts another runner on base and another potential run scored wether its in the game your playing or the next game. I dont think scoring runs is a classless act ever. Ive been on both sides of the fence. A lot can be learned from a butt kicking. Matter of fact you usually learn way more from a loss than you do a win. I do agree that when you have obtained a comfortable lead it should allow you the chance to change some other defenses, bring another pitcher in. But offensively you cant pull back you are just teaching bad habbits.
