Why is everyone being so secret this year with tourney results? Even the websites dont tell you anything. Be nice if someone would post the top three in each division. JMHO

As a TD I try to post results of every game played in my Tournaments. We as TDs continually bump our tourny's and advertise to get teams, well the responsibility doesnt end there. We should post results as well.

Both tourneys we have been in have posted results, so it's definitely not everyone ...

We always ask the TD that use OFC post results. With that said we still have allot that don't post
anything but the promotion of there tournament.

And if some TD's would do better job posting teams, brackets and game times they might get more spectators coming down to watch some games, buy some food. Posting tourney results will build more interest in the tournament going forward.

I agree. I feel like the schedules are more of a secret these days.

These posts about the public dissemination of schedules make me feel every bit as old as I am. As few as 8 years ago, there was practically no publication of pool schedules. I really think that many TD's do an excellent job of getting this information out. Stingrays has an amazing site that even updates the bracket play schedules on a real time basis. GAPSS has a web site that also provides updates. I notice from posts here on OFC that some smaller tournaments have done a good job of posting on their team websites.

It's frustrating when a few tournaments don't have an internet site, but it has been our experience that in recent years the schedules have been made available to us as coaches via email as soon as possible (remember, some ASA/USA qualifiers such as ASA States have to leave entries open for at least a week before the tournament begins). In this day of email access, coaches should forward that information to team members as soon as possible after receipt (and I will admit we've had a few situations where we didn't get the info out to our team immediately after we received it).

Coop, I was thinking the same why no results. Then I thought about it....Not refering to the TD posting part but the other part such as parent, coaches, and friends.....

We treat people as they are chest bumping about the teams. I love it when people post wins and losses, I like reading about other teams and how they are doing. Maybe we shouldnt be so negative when teams/parents brag a little!

There are still a lot of coaches who don't use email, and sending a schedule over text is impossible. Some just send a text and tell the girls when to show up, or print it out and hand it out at practice right before the tournament. It just makes it difficult for families to plan. Plus, parents and players want to know WHO we are playing etc. Not all (in fact very few I have noticed) post the schedules on their web site. But that would be great if more did.

Another thing that would be nice would be if TD's who advertise their tournaments on this site might occasionally go back and update their postings with team lists (some do). I see a lot of tournaments TTT'd but it sure would be nice if the there were more frequent post updates from TD's letting people know the teams they will be facing.

I also agree think if a tournament has a website or facebook page, it shouldn't be too hard to update it weekly or so with updated participation lists. I understand that not every tournament or coach is "there yet" technologically, but those that are able to advertise and submit postings about the tournament here or elsewhere should reasonably be able to follow up.

I don't expect full scheduling info being available too far in advance however. From experience, tourney schedules in any sport can be quite chaotic as conditions change leading up to opening day. However, knowing who we might bump into at a given tournament certainly adds to the anticipation and excitement in my opinion.

I think it was Lasers last year who set up a Twitter account and published game results as they happened. It was awesome, and we weren't even there, just a fan of some of the teams playing.

TDs, why not assign someone to set up a Twitter acct for your tournaments and push out results as they happen!? I for one would sign up for many. Better than most of the **** on Twitter these days!

Well, if you use twitter you might get spammed by weight loss add or "OMG, you won't believe the picture they took of you" texts. Our team twitter had the account hacked. I thought the coach was telling me I needed to lose weight. I was hurt. LOL.

You should reach out to Obsidian Design who does Stingrays for the software they created, Not as expensive as you think and easy to use. Or you can hire them the first year to do it for you and show you how to......
