Well......call me a bit of a fuddy duddy..but I actually enjoy reading my Sunday paper by the fireplace in the early Sunday am with the sunday morning polka shows goin!

Old fashioned I know...but my dear old dad got me started with that when he used to get up early and get the fire going and listened to that annoying Polka. Funny thing is...as Ive aged I kinda began to really enjoy it myself, of course the rest of the family hates it! :)

I married a drummer :D--I love rock. Today's best band has to be Nickelback ;D, but back in my day it was CHEAP TRICK , old-Infinity-era Journey, the long-haired Jon BonJovi, Queen (for all four members having college degrees--they still had a great sense of humor with their music), Lenny Kravitz (Lenny's drummer, Cindy Blackman, has been an inspiration to my dd--when dd isn't playing softball)
What I hatehatehate, bands that are pompous---aka Rush, Yes, anything overly studio-manufactured.

I still don't understand why Paula Abdul judges singing on American Idol---does anyone believe that this woman can actually sing?! ::)

I really like just about everything- depends on my mood and what's available.

Now, I have a confession to make. Back in the day, I was a teenage Disco Dee Jay!

I first got into it when I was in high school, at the peak of the disco era. Stuck with it through college and a little bit beyond, working in various clubs around the Columbus area. I even worked for a guy that supplied entertainment and sound systems for weddings, school dances, pool parties and the like and worked a lot of those.

So there was a ten year period where, literally, just about every single song that was ever released, I had played it at one time or another. Rock, soul, country, reggae, punk, easy listening, dance, R&B, pop, metal, rap- you name it and I had it in my record collection. (Yes- records. This was all vinyl. I quit DJ'ing right around the dawn of the CD era.)

Now another confession- while I'm a few notches beyond eight-track technology, I haven't really kept up with the latest in digital music. My daughter recently offered me the use of her iPod and I was like, "Umm, how do you turn this thing on?"

But I can make some really wicked mix-tapes!
