Last year was the ?no step? everybody had the kids doing it, and pitchers started throwing the rise ball to get them out. Not to mention power numbers where way down.
This year is the upright with hands up and the pick it up ?no step?. And the drop ball and the old curveball were very successful. Against those kinda hitters.
I watch the pros playing baseball, and I watch the pros (Akron) and NCAA girls play.
Hitting has not changed much since Abner Doubleday time.
Small step, hip rotation, eye on the ball, and bat level in the hitting zone. Is a normally a good start.
But we will have to wait till they come around from California, Oklahoma, and they tell us the new way to mess up a hitter
;D

I agree. I think the best swing is a comfortable swing! If you are up to bat trying to remember exactly how you are supposed to critique your swing than there is no way you can concentrate on the ball.
Good batting techniques need to be taught thoroughly and early in a girl's career. I have volunteered at many softball camps where when I try to get a 10 year old to rotate her hips on her swing, the camp director tells me not to worry about it and to let her go!!! The nerve!

See the ball; hit the ball usually works for our kids.
It ain't rocket science.
