What's an organization known for?

Would love all OFCers to play a form of the WORD ASSOCIATION GAME, but instead of random words replace with a Fast Pitch Organization Name(S) and the FIRST THING that comes to your mind REGARDING THAT ORG, then post the results.

THIS WILL ELICIT SOME INTERESTING RESPONSES AS MANY PEOPLE WILL RESPOND FROM WHAT THEY HEAR, OPPOSED TO WHAT THEY KNOW, BUT THINKING ANY ORGANIZATION THAT WANTS TO IMPROVE AND OR MARKET THEMSELVES BETTER NEEDS TO HEAR WHAT OTHERS THINK OF THEM.

Example:

Org = "XYZ" : Association = Trophy Hunters

Other examples could be ........
- strong pitching
- tough teams
- always a bridesmaid, never a bride...

SLAMMERS : Association = Commitment to Training and Excellence

No Doubt Tim, but I think some ORG Presidents would be surprised or motivated by what others FIRST WORD ASSOCIATION is from others. Even though many will not be true, it is the WORD OF MOUTH that leads families to find an ORG.

Hoping people join in and share what they think of IMMEDIATELY when saying any particular orgs name.

Let me see. I can see this getting ugly.

In NWO, I think:

Fusion (US) - NKOTB
Wizards - Lots of teams
Magic - USSSA tourney powerhouse
Irish - Tradition
Sharks - Hidden jewel
Buckeye Heat - Strong

Triple:

Could we maybe make this only a "positive word association"? Otherwise Bear may shut us down, and for the good of Ohio fastpitch, I'm not sure we should be getting into tar and feathering. I'm usually not one for curtailing speech, but here's what I think about getting the word out to parents on teams that have had a lot of problems or, to use your example, are "trophy hunters": when a parent has questions about a team for the purposes of deciding whether to try out or accept an invitation, that parent should post an inquiry and request PM responses only.

SO, if we are talking positive word associations (1995 players), I have three teams at the 14U that come to mind: Doom 95, Lasers Gold, and Ice Silver. All obviously have top tier athletes and they have always been great friends to the Buckeye Heat 95 team. We love to play these teams. Positive words: winners and supporters (of Ohio fastpitch).

Organizations: Winners and supporters of fastpich in Ohio. Lasers, Wolfpack, and Stingrays.

Organizations: Offering a quality travel ball experience to the greatest number of players. Heart of Ohio and the Wizards.

Other potential categories: Up and Coming, Travel the Most, Geared toward College Exposure, Best Predominantly Local, Best High School Team Playing Travel Ball, etc. etc.

I'm sure I will be appalled when I realize that I have left some deserving teams and organizations off my list, but I've got a client knocking on the door. Just sayin' I would prefer this to be the tone of the thread. But it is Triple's call.

NICE JOB!.. Hopefully everyone that posts can take your lead and keep it civil, but honestly some of the associations might not be positive and that is OK, as if I was President of an Org, I would want to know what's being said.

You are often the VOICE OF REASON. No reason not to heed your suggestion. THANKS CGS!

I would like to suggest that if there are less then positive but better then offensive, those items could be extremely valuable to an org/president to hear.. I will leave it to the OFC faithful to use your best judgement as always.

Sammy, looks like you put some time into that one.. NICE, almost poetic. ^_^!

Fusion, I think a better way to describe Wizards would be either: "Leading the way in NWO" Or "Providing opportunities" But that is just my biased opinion.
