I was just wondering who the returning powerhouse teams are going to be in highschool ball. I know alot of good teams lost some good players and wondering how that would affect them this year.

In D3, I look for North Union, Bloom Carroll, Mt. Gilead, and Johnstown to be the teams to beat. Now that Lakewood is in D3, look for them to be in the mix as well.

LIBERTY UNION WILL ALSO BE AT THE TOP OF THAT LIST IN D3.

Yes, you are correct, sorry to overlook them. Was thinking there pitcher graduated, but Klopfer is just a Junior I believe, what a great pitcher, as well as her little sister.

Thanks for the nice comments Lady Knights. Kaitlin is a Senior this year and will very soon be decided on a college. Sarah will be a Freshman next year. Liberty Union will continue to have very strong pitching and bats for quite awhile.

I sort of figured that Bloom Carrol was still going to be strong since they have Gabby and Natalie.. really dont know anyone else from their team just know those two from talking to them through travel ball. Johnstown I sort of knew to b/c I have some friends on that team like my bff Delaney... Didnt Liberty lose some other good players though? Do you know about any D1 teams? I know about Gahanna is going to still be very strong and I still believe Pick Central will be. Hilliard Darby has a few strong key returners and so does Thomas Worthington.

D3 should be as competitive as ever with Lakewood moving down. Look for them to challenge Bloom Carrol. I also like Marion Pleasant, Liberty Union, and Johnstown to be in the mix. And don't count out Bishop Ready.

I think Teays Valley moves up from D2, and with Lakewood down to D3, DeSales has a good year to be "young", but not out - and they have a bumber crop from travel ball in the 8th grade. Circleville will come from another district - so Licking Valley ?

Grove City is my pick for D1 and maybe tops in Central Ohio. Pitching returns with a power hitter, a move in, some key players from last year, plus a couple freshman who will contribute immediately.
Westerville South and Westerville Central, Thomas Worthington, Mt. Vernon, Teays Valley, and Upper Arlington are my initial choices to lead the pack in another year of deeeeeppppp D1.

Grove City will be very good, but never over look Thomas Worthington and the Hilliard teams! 2008 also may be the year of some new comers!

Grove City very true. I play with a girl from that school and Thomas will always be one of the most strong teams in ohio. And I know Darby is going to be very good with Olivia and Hiedi and Megan. ;D

Darby should have returnees from Buckeye Heat May 18's 2, Classics 16's 2, Stingrays 16's 1,
Stingrays 18's 1, I believe 1 from Nightmare, three other returnees from Hilliard summer teams and a few others I can't think of while typing sorry ladies brain is getting old..... If they can pull out of themselves the true talent they possess, they will be pretty good!

Agree with Hilliarddad3, Darby definitely has a solid group of players returning this year and should be considered one of the top teams in central ohio.

Did Santa bring any new players to any area teams, that may make them better?

Central District Div III is just loaded. I look at the other Div III districts and wish we were there, not that there aren't good teams everywhere, just more in my opinion in the Central...and wow, now we get Lakewood!

I look for an exciting season in D1 too -- I think Thomas Worthington is probably one of the favorites right now with solid hitting and above average pitching to go along with top notch coaching!
Marysville will always be a factor with Wood pitching and their hitters
I don't know much on Pickerington C., I think they lost a lot due to graduation.
Grove City should be solid with good pitching (P. Myer)?
Upper Arlington has a solid pitcher in A.Plant and a new coach
Westerville South will be in good shape with a senior led team and a much improved healthy senior pitcher ;)
Dark horses: Worthington Kilbourne,Mt Vernon,Westerville Central

In D1, I think you have to start with the pitching. Grove City has great pitching and possibly the best hitting team in the area. Westerville South has the top pitcher in the area. After that, it's tough to tell. Westerville Central returns most of its girls, including the pitcher and shortstop. UA should be very good, as should both Hilliard teams, Gahanna and Marysville. Not sure what Pick Central returns.

Heard that Mt. Vernon would be looking for a new coach.
