Who is signing this week...?

The sign of the times are early verbals. Prantl and Abbruzzese had offers from top programs in May of their sophmore seasons, and fortunately landed at OSU. Look how competitive it was going for Erin Gabriel, you have to shoot for it early to have a chance.

I know there is a 2013 in central Ohio who has several offers from top 20 schools, and still has visits. In the end, even with all the choices, I think she ends up like Marchantonio and McNeil(both could of gone to top 20 schools) at Kent. A 2014 from North Canton is getting many, many, looks and has been reported on unofficials, along with a 2015 pitcher from central Ohio. Talk about early! It is certainly the sign of the times!

top 20 schools?....in the nation?......2015 pitcher?....oh please stop

With all of this talk, sounds like my daughter hasn't got a chance!!! She's a 2012. Guess we're 5 years too late! Hopefully there's someone out there who needs and likes my daughter!

You don't have anything to worry about, the truth gets stretched a lot on this forum. If your DD is a above average player with excellent grades, and you are doing the recruiting thing the way you should, then your DD will get recruited. I am a division 1 sophomore playing about 50% of the innings my freshman year and I will be starting this year hitting in the 1 or 2 spot. I along with probably 98% of the the other d1 recruits, got my offers the summer between my junior and senior year, then I early signed, their was none of this early verbal stuff.....:lmao: .....so don't get worked up about all the 4th and 5th graders that are verbaling.

And hillbilly......oh where do I start with you......:)......

It is not unheard of for an 8th grader to be recruited or unofficially offered a Scholarship.
Happens in other sports: remember Damon Bailey? Bob Knight made the comment that he was a "Hot Prospect" as an 8th grader. How bout Jimmy Clausen or Todd Marinovich? Both were highly touted QBs and unofficially recruited as early as 8th grade. It is not the Norm, especially in womens sports, but like a post above said "never say never in recruiting".

Slappey its great you are in the lineup good luck in Georgia,
Back to the thread most people on the forum are right on with no need to fabricate.
There will always be players to get offers going into their senior years but the fact is many of current juniors are committed and as for younger players its happening whether you are aware or not.

Certainly impressed at all the insights of the younger athletes who plan to verbal before they are 12 but like someone said...back to the thread......who is signing??? Not what age are you when the top 20 D1 schools first recruited your DD

Yeh, have there been ANY sophomores listed as committing...??? I think the actual players committing around here are mostly Seniors and a few Juniors....did I mention Centerville has 2? :yahoo:

Congratulations to both Kenzie Conrad and Erin Pond both juniors at Keystone and Tidalwaves on their commits to Akron! Julie is lucky to get two such outstanding kids in her program. All of us in LaGrange couldn't prouder. You girls set good examples of what hard work and good grades will get you. One other bonus of being a ZIP, Mom and Dad can go watch you guys on a regular basis. As a Kent State alum it's not easy for me to feel good about our archenemy Akron but I am. Good luck this year at Keystone and bring home another state title!!!!!!
