Is this just me or it seems that certain area's of our state are mostly 1-Affiliation. Let me give some examples:
N/W and Western Ohio seem to be predominately USSSA Tournaments.
N/E and Eastern Ohio seem to be NSA and Pony.
Central Ohio seem to be ASA with a ?small mixture of other's.
Southern Ohio seems to be alot of NSA .
Is this correct ? What's everyone's input? ?:D

You see more travel teams that are confining their travel and play what is available in their sector. This may be an offshoot of the increasing cost of tournaments along with an emergence of what I call "semi-travel" teams.

For example, NSA - A was in Tealtown last year and NSA -B was in Cleveland. There were a number of teams that should have played A but chose B because it was closer. There were as many very competitive teams in B as there were in A. It is my opinion that NSA should mandate those who won A berths to attend the A state. I think they are afraid to clamp down in fear of losing teams to other sanction. I am not picking on NSA as USSSA has a very similar problem

Several years ago, I attended the USSSA-A 12U nationals in Canton, Mi. There were a total of 15 teams in the A nationals and 60 teams in their B nationals and at least 20 of the B teams should have been playing A. Why didn't they? They did not have to.

Sigh. There are too many possible reasons to list and too little time.

NW Ohio is not "predominate" USSSA... The SGS has two tournaments in Maumee, the Northern USSSA tournament is in Maumee and there are two USSSA tournaments in Fostoria. For ASA, there are three Fastpitch Classic tournaments, 5 FAST/Wizard Tournaments, one Sharks and two Irish tournaments. Defiance also run 2-3 ASA tournaments.
Typically, I think that when there is a strong presence of a governing body in a certain area, then you will see that sanctioning body having tournaments. The Northern Director for USSSA lives in Maumee and District 1 for ASA is the largest district in Ohio which is NW Ohio. Both of these people are very active in the softball community.
