Why would some coaches do this?

By the way, I have decided that any of the teams that haven't been paid by the first part of next week are going to get named here ... 6 weeks plus after multiple promises to pay and me reaching out to follow up with them 10 timer or more is too long, and I think others here (like TD's, equipment vendors and parents of prospective players) have the right to know. If an organization has a coach representing them to others and making promises to pay for things, then the organization has to have some accountability as well.

CoachJWB...I have been involved in softball for almost 15 year here in SWOhio and have met a great number of awesome people, and a few unsavory characters that had me in a similar situation as you. In fact right now I am battling with a SWOhio team that put on a tournament offering prepaid t-shirts but didn't have them at the tournament. This was a month ago and I keep hearing the same things as you, check is in the mail or their vendor is printing more shirts, etc, etc...Anyway, in my years, I have found ways to pressure such characters to pay their bills. If you are interested, I would gladly help you collect your monies due. PM me if interested...

Just a quick update ... I did receive the one check I thought I would get, but the other 2 teams still have not paid. They are both larger organizations in Ohio and I am going to be calling them out here in the next couple of days. You know who you are ...

That's really crappy! When we started the travel softball thing almost two years ago, I learned just how small and tight the softball community is (in a good way). I can't believe people would think that stiffing someone is acceptable *and* that the word won't get around. This is especially bad given you donate part of the fees to SIS leaving you barely covering your cost even when people pay.

Hey Coach, Ohio Thunder 99 (formerly Mason Thunder 99 Black) can use a new set of wristbands. Still 2 sizes?

Just to close the book on this, I got paid from all but one organization ... the 16U Ohio (Marion) Knockouts coached by Nathan Sandusky. I talked to several people in the Knockouts organization about this, and I had thought it would get taken care of, but it did not. I learned my lesson, and now know how to accept PayPal payments, and while I am sure there are a lot of good and honest people in the Knockouts organization, I will not be selling to them again.

Thanks for not throwing in the towel and not doing this anymore. I love our systems. You do so much for all the teams at a severe low cost. How dare they do this?

You worked a lot with me to make sure our team was set up properly with what our exact needs were and I'm sure all the other teams would agree. This is more than what a team would get if you ordered it from a random company for a lot more money.
