First time attending this tournament, was very disappointed in several items....

First no scores were updated and posted at the fields - well at least not at Gilson yesterday.

Second - With the inability to check how other teams were doing, we didn't find out until late last evening when we played this morning, didn't care for the system inwhich teams were seeded. Seemed very disorganized.

Third - The umpires were very inconsistant and made some terrible calls, worst I have seen yet this season. Talked to several other teams and they ageed and were having the same frustrating issues.

Need to improve the quality of the tournament all the way around, would not care to return to this tourney in the future.

The problem here is that most teams and orgs. on the east side are clueless to what it takes to play or put on a good fastpitch tournament. Most Orginization this side of town do these tournaments as fundraisers for the teams and really have no interest in playing competivily.

One tell tale sign of a Eastside tournament is the simple fact that the tournament has a carnival type atmosphere instead of the smell of good teams moving around the park looking to showcase there skills, you get the smell of the helmet spraying stand.

I plan to discourage all of our teams from participating in this tournament in the future for several reasons. This was an ASA qualifier and the TD took liberties with the rules, such as allowing metal spikes for 16's & 18's, allowing teams to use two EP.

Now let's cover the pathetic umpiring that took place. The floating strike zone was just the tip of the iceberg. No understanding that a tag is not required on a force (saw this happen in several games). On bang-bang plays a high tag on a sliding runner was an automatic out if the fielder could simply show the ball was still in their mitt (no kidding, didn't matter). Now lets talk about the eastside home-cookin: a ball hit down the line hits the chaulk, fair for one team (eastside) and foul for the other (we're talking game deciding shots and dust flew on both balls), delayed infield fly calls (umps waited to see what the outcome of the play was before they called it) on balls that were behing the infielders on a very deep (110'+) infield cut.

I would not reccommend this tourney to anyone that is used to playing a quality run tourney. Was our first year and our last.

The scores are on the website..and also hats off to the crew to work hard to get the grounds ready to go ,saw some really good games got to ask 3dm are you saying that an eastside team got the call because they were eastside..wow and I see that you did not like it and really had nothing good to say...so when are you going to have a Tournament????
I think someone is upset because the ball didn't go there way!

Mark, John, Vinnie

I think you did a great job. Tournament was well run, and considering the rain, back on schedule very quickly. Can't always say that. The fact that 60/70 teams participate every year, you must be doing something right. Job well done guys. Keep up the great work.
